Interesting title, I know!  We have submitted our first of four wedding announcements to a newspaper.  Frist one was to the one in Northwest Arkansas.  The other three if you are wondering is Joel and my hometown papers (Middleton and Waunakee) and the Wisconsin State Journal.  I am still trying to decide if I should do a write up to be in the NY Times.  I guess I will find some time to try to get that done as well.

By the way, I am getting very excited about my upcoming shower.  I still cannot believe I am finally the Bride sitting in the special chair.

Off to watch the Superbowl to watch the Packers WIN!!!

I pulled up to the house tonight and there was a box at the front door.  It was our menu cards that got delivered.  I am like a kid getting birthday presents (but more often).  I was very excited to open the box.  I was extremely happy and loving the cards.  They are perfect and elegant.  I am so happy with the way they turned out.

I am too tired tonight to do another wedding project.  There are not a lot of the proje

What a fun day today!  The day started out great with the door bell ringing and it was the Fedex delivering my veil and head piece.  I was so excited to see it again.  I will have a hair run through in a few weeks.

Then it was on to Dark Star Visual http://www.dsvboutique.com/ who helped me make my amazing bracelet.  I had several pictures but the ladies truly helped me design and make a custom bracelet.  Look at the DIY page to see the way it turned out.  It took me a under three hours to make it and it was worth every minute.

Four months and the big day will be here.  I have been neglecting the website through the holidays and all that is going on.  I have made a lot of progress.

I finally, finally finished sewing all the chair sashes that I am using to decorate the church.  I am actually tying the chair sashes to the pews.  This is one of the projects that took much longer than I thought it would.  It was not a lot of fun but I know that it will look so pretty.  I sewed together a cornflower blue and ivory chair sash together.  I will be posting pictures soon.

All of the invitations are stuff.  Pictures need to be posted on this as well.  I had costume made stamps for the made envelope.  I also had RSVP stamps made as well.

My girls hoodies are done.  I put the bedazzle pieces on each of the girls backs with Maid of Honor and Bridesmaid.  The girls hoodies are in black and the flowergirl’s is in pink.  I think they turned out so nice and will be nice to wear when getting ready for the wedding.

My dress is in and I am very excited.  I will have my fitting in 6 weeks.  My veil and head piece are in as well.  These will be shipped to me so that way I can try out the pieces during my run through while I am home in February.

February is going to be a busy month.  I am going to Wisconsin for my bridal shower.  While I am home I am finalizing my flowers, the church music and a run through on my hair.  I am sure I will find a few more things to squeeze in.

Overall, I am feeling very good at where I am at in the planning process.  Working ahead and doing what I want to do has made this whole event fun.

On a much needed trip back to Wisconsin, a few of the outstanding issues have been resolved.  First of all, this last week the moms met with the wedding coordinator/planner.  I wanted them to meet him since I was out of town and it was going to be to difficult otherwise.  The moms loved him so I was happy with their feedback so mark that off the list.
Next on the list was for Friday while I was home.  My mom and I had a meeting with a florist that came very recommanded.  I like them a lot but now want to see the quote and make sure it is in the budget.  My bouquet will have ivory roses, penenies, fresha.  The girls will have hydrangas with roses and penenies.  I need to get some ideas on what I want for the alter arrangements.  I have not even thought about it yet.
We stopped at the church to get an idea of the decor for the pews.  I ordered a chair sash in the correct color and pew clips that actually fit.  My mom and I played with it and tied it different ways.  Finally we got a way that worked and looked nice.  And no clip needed.  Now I need to order ivory and cornflower sashes or buy 28 total yards of satin fabric.  Let the sewing begin.  I know that it is going to look so nice and so elegant.
Let's see what else did we do, stopped at the reception site.  I got the idea of how I want the flow to be as people walk in and also the decorations that are needed.  Thankfully, very little.  Being the organized person, I need to draw out the exact look so the wedding planner knows how I want it all set up.  I guess that is why you hire someone so you do not mind giving them orders!
While at the farmer's market on Saturday, I found this metal sculpture of the word Love.  It is so different and simple and thought it would look great on the gift table.  My mom agreed and I splurged for it.  I think it will look so nice.  It is at the house now on the dining room table.  I am going to show it off even before the wedding.
The Save the Dates have been ordered.  Yeah.  I am pretty excited about that.  I also ordered the stamps.  Thank you Zazzle for the great sale.  I need to now start learning calligraphy or get the printing labels ready.  I think printing labels for save the dates and then calligraphy for the invites.  I did take calligraphy class in the summer back in the 6th or 7th grade.  Maybe it will come back quickly!
Now it is time to finalize the little stuff.  I need to do my bracelet, work on the invites, work on the programs, do the girls sweatshirts, and finalize the car.  Not too bad!

Joel and I took advantage of my 1/2 day summer Fridays.  After a little lunch and some golf shopping, it was time to pick out tuxes.  This was more interesting than I thought it was going to be.  We spend time looking at different combinations.  We decided we did not like the color time options so we just brought the correct color blue color ties.  I have posted pictures in attire of what the different combinations are.  It was a little overwhelming but it was something that I am glad we started.

After tux shopping, it was time to register at Bed, Bath and Beyond.  Isn't it so much fun to scan away!  We picked out of everyday dishes and fine china.  We walked all over the store and Joel even picked out a few things he wanted as well.  We got a nice book to take home and make sure we did not miss anything.  Joel actually saw something else he wanted.  I have no clue if we register for too little or too much.  I guess we can always update.

I bought bow holders for the pew and have sent them home.  I hope they fit the pews at the chruch so we can put the sashes on them.  I also order a sash and had it sent to Wisconsin.  I hope it is all the correct color and works.  I am crossing my fingers.

Izzy got to try on her dress yesterday.  My mom said it will fit her perfect next year.  I am so excited on that one.  My mom will make a new sash for the dress.  The material is in the mail.  I cannot wait to see pictures of izzy in her flowergirl dress.

It is now less than one year until Joel and I get married.  I have realized over this last weekend that my love grows everyday for Joel.  We had an amazing weekend back in Wisconsin.  On Friday we had our engagement pictures.  It was so much fun.  We took pictures at the UW Memorial Union. We got pictures by the water, in the big Yellow chair, by the ivy.  Then we did some pictures at Allen park in Madison.  I cannot wait to see the pictures.  I really like our photographer.

On Saturday we had our engagement party.  It was a casual gather at my mom's house.  We had about 50 people attend.  It was so nice to see everyone in a nice, simple setting.  We have some great pictures from the events.  I do know our wedding will not be boring!

In terms of wedding planning, not a lot got done while I was home.  It was too busy but it is not like we have a lot to do!

I am so excited about this upcoming weekend.  First of all, it makes one year until our wedding.  I can finally stop saying "oh it is over a year until we get married".  Secondly, we are heading home to Wisconsin this weekend.  We will be having our engagement pictures taken on Friday.  I am so excited.   I love our photographer so I am so happy he is taking our pictures.  I think it will be nice for Joel to meet the photographer before the wedding day.  Joel likes to be a goof in pictures!  And the fun times continue with a good old Wisconsin Engagement Party on Saturday.  This is going to be a blast.  A party with brats and beer!  I will have tons of pictures (or I hope) from the day so they will get posted somewhere.  I am so lucky to have such

I packed up all that I could for our trip to Wisconsin.  I wish I could attach the picture of the two rubbermaid container and a box that will be stored at my mom's house.  I clearly labeled each one so I know what is in it and where it goes, Ceremony or Reception.  I just hope they fit in the car on the trip home!

I have four options for the outside of the pocketfold invites.  I sent an email to both mothers to get their opinion.  I don't mind that I am creating more work, I just want to have an invite that is different and is different from anyone I know.

Joel, FI, decided he wants a 4 button tux.  He wants very little of his shirt showing.  Hopefully when we are home, we can pick out the tux.  I am glad he has given me his imput.

We had a very exciting Friday night this weekend!  I printed all 150 invitations.  Joel helped me finalize the font.  It was nice to get his imput on things.  It actually was a lot faster and easier than I thought it would be.

Saturday was a day of little tasks.  I got all the hoodies washed so they are ready for their bling.  I did some reading on how to make bracelets.  I am still scared to start my bracelet.  I know it is not that hard but it is something new I have never done.  I really need to find a class around here to get me over the fear.

Saturday night Joel taped the back of the invites so I could put them in the pocket card.  We had our assembly line and it took no time to get all the invites done.  It was so nice of him to help out with the assembly.

We are all in agreement of how to decorate the pews at the church.  I have posted the idea under ceremony.  Many Knotties gave me a great idea of using chair sashes.  It was a great idea.  I will be ordering light blue and ivory chair sashes.  I might order some demask partnered ones but not sure.  I might have to get a few opinions on that one.

Happy Mother's Day.  Joel took me out to dinner to celebrate since I am a furbaby mom!
